of glass lined carbon-steel equipment
Technical specification and properties of glass lined carbon-steel equipment.
1. Note: Inside pressure can be different according to the requirements of contracts.
2. Allowable temperature: 0℃-200℃ for agitating vessel; 0℃-150℃ for storage tank. Temperature resistance: cooling shock 110℃, thermal shock 120℃. Temperature should be slowly changed while heating or cooling the equipment to avoid glass damages.
3. Thickness of glass layer: 0.8-2.0mm for equipment; 0.6-2.3mm for fittings.
4. Voltage resistance: glass coating has very good insulating property. Within its specified thickness, working area does not conduct electricity when testing with 20KV high frequency voltage.
Corrosion proof: organic or inorganic acid, organic solvent and weak alkaline corrosion can be endured except hydrofluoric acid, medium containing fluorine ion, phosphoric acid, and alkalis consistency ≥30% and temperature ≥180℃.
5. Non-sticky property: with smooth and clean surface, very suitable for food industry and adhesive materials’ process.
Assembly, utilization and maintenance of glass lined carbon-steel equipment
1. Before lifting, glass lined surfaces should be carefully checked to ensure no enamel damage. Rubber sole shoes must be worn to avoid enamel damage when entering the vessel. Use soft pad to protect enamel surfaces, cannot contact or collide with the enamel surfaces. When moving and transporting equipment, only lugs and supports can be used, connecting pipes, fasteners are not allowed to bear any force. And whole equipment cannot be rolled or pried by bar.
2. While tightening fasteners, force should be applied symmetrically and equally in order not to damage enamel surface because of partial over stress. For the purpose of good sealing, hot vapor should be slowly sent into equipment, then tighten fasteners when rubber gaskets soften.
3. Welding on the outer wall of the equipment is strictly forbidden.
4. Material for all sealing gaskets should be chosen according to reaction medium and temperature (gaskets fitted in equipment are as general conditions)
5. While installing agitators, radial clearance in sealing section of shaft has to be adjusted to a minimum. And back-rotation not allowed. Be careful, don't damage the enamel when installing.
6. Glass lined equipment can not be used in the following medium’s reaction and storage:
a) Hydrofluoric acid
b) Alkali medium of PH≥12 and temperature≥100℃.
c) Phosphoric acid of consistency≥30℃ and temperature≥180℃
d) Alternate reaction between acid and alkali materials.
e) Other medium containing fluoric iron.
7. In the process of using, temperature must be increased or decreased slowly to prevent shortening its service life or enamel damage because of its thermal or cold stress.
8. While entering, put a piece of soft cushion in bottom and also wear rubber sole shoes in order to protect the inside surface. If outlet blocked, wooden or other soft bar can be used but metal tools absolutely forbidden.
9. In the process of using, regular inspection should be carried out. If finding the scraps of glass in discharging materials, you have to check immediately, broken area should be treated in time.
